Here are some tips you can use to help combat your debt problem.
- Ask about payment plans. For example if you went to the dentist and incurred a large bill, ask them if they do payment plans. You might find they can split the bill into 4 payments at no interest. It sure beats adding it your credit card bill at a much higher interest rate.
- Do it yourself. This includes things like cooking, cleaning and fixing things around the house.
- Don’t lend friends money, even if they say they’ll pay you back with interest. If they don’t end up paying you back, you’ll lose your money and your friendship.
- Combine your gadgets. Instead of having an mp3 player, digital camera and a cell phone, get a smartphone that can do all of that and more. Sell your other items on eBay.
- Get a hobby. Your hobby can turn into a part time job and at the very least occupy yourself so you don’t feel compelled to go out and spend money.
- Use cash. Get your paycheck deposited directly into your bank account. Then withdraw some of it in cash. This is your budget.

That’s the way to get rid of your debt, by having a plan and sticking to it.
